Weekend Reading: Curled Up With Architectural Digest

Weekend 📖 reading known as Media Monitoring or PR Homework in these parts at Tin Shingle.

Flipping through the gorgeous pages of Architectual Digest and settling in on a feature of a Hudson Valley home in Croton on the Hudson, the Neumann House by Marcel Breuer.

The best way to pitch a magazine is to know its writing and editorial style as well as you would know your closest friend and how they like things. The easiest way to do that is by subscribing to the magazine in print. If you want a magazine to even exist in print to feature your business and inspire you, then support it with a paid subscription. Read it on paper and experience it in the way it was designed.

For all you advertisers out there - if you have paid for branded content or a roundup or a group full page ad - bravo to you. Advertisers keep the magazines in business to keep the editorial cycle spinning. Somethings got to pay those photographers, writers and editors!

Fit Pregnancy & Baby Magazine Closes, But Merges In Print With Parent's Magazine

An associate publisher at Meredith Parents Network confirmed that Fit Pregnancy & Baby would be closing the print edition of the magazine with the December/January 2018 issue. Fit Pregnancy & Baby was known as a source for the inside scoop on how celebrities tackle pregnancy, coverage of the latest style trends, and the source for smart advice to millennial moms.

It does get better though! Fit Pregnancy & Baby will move into a special section in Parents, debuting in the March 2018 issue entitled Parents Baby. The sixteen-page section will be printed every other month targeting millennial women, especially expecting and new moms. Its content will focus on three pillars:

  • Health
  • Gear
  • Milestones

Media Monitoring: Variety Magazine for the New Year!

IMG_5583.JPG

Taking a page from Victory PR’s  new postings of their #mediamonitoring on Instagram, we are showing ours - first read of the new year - Variety Magazine!

Top Secret: this subscription was actually a gift to my husband from Tin Shingle at Christmas because he’s a consumer of several paper magazines but also works in the film industry as a crew member. However, he, like most crew members, has movie making aspirations. As part of my New Years resolution to support his creative dreams, Tin Shingle lulled the trigger on this yearly subscription.

New subscription arrived already. Time to catch up on nominations and movie makers, and sleuthing for our own ideas for Media Contacts and article ideas.
