An accomplished dancer, Suzanne has had a lifelong love affair with dance, studying and performing since she was a child. By age 13, Suzanne was already winning Irish dancing competitions and she went on to study virtually every kind of dance including tap, ballet, jazz, African, Latin, ballroom, modern and belly dance. She has performed in such venues as the Dia Art Foundation, Dance Theater Workshop, Sony Plaza, and the American Museum of Natural History. After performing abroad, Suzanne returned to New York and received her MA in Dance and Dance in Higher Education from NYU, a performing arts license from the NYC Board of Education and began working as an independent choreographer with Broadway performers and various theater companies. She has studied with top choreographers including Eric Hawkins, performed with Steven Koplowitz & Company and mambo champion, Richard Diaz. One of her proudest achievements was a personal referral from jazz dance legend, Luigi. Dancing her way through two pregnancies, Suzanne integrated her dance background, personal experience and studies in guided imagery and homeopathy to create a holistic and contemporary way to stay fit before, during and after pregnancy and launched her company, Maternal Dance. A Healthy Moms certified perinatal fitness educator and prenatal yoga teacher, Suzanne brought her live Maternal Dance program to DVD with the recently released Rhythm For Life--The Prenatal Belly Dance Workout DVD which has been endorsed by the March of Dimes. Considered an innovator in dance and maternal fitness, major news outlets such as Discovery Health Channel, NY1 News, Foxnews.com, Self Magazine and Pilates Style Magazine regularly feature Suzanne and the Rhythm For Life DVD. Suzanne continues to choreograph for special events and is a movement educator who is passionate about sharing her love of dance and yoga with people of all ages and experience levels. She lives in NYC with her two children and silky terrier.
