Melissa Hall is the Founder of The Emerging Designer fashion network and Melissa Hall Consulting based in New York. She is responsible for discovering, promoting and fostering new design talent while staying current with the latest retail and marketing trends. 

With experience in advertising, retail sales, styling and event management, Melissa brings over 13 years of business experience to offer 360 thought leadership and fresh, untapped ideas to the forefront. Her areas of speciality include fashion, home and lifestyle brands. 

Melissa began her career in advertising account management in Chicago working on various packaged goods brands at Leo Burnett and FCB including Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods, KFC and Kellogg’s. With an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to learn more, she moved to New York and returned to school to study fashion design at Parsons The New School for Design. Now, she fuses design with marketing to offer clients a holistic point-of-view.

Now, Melissa consults for a variety of brands including Jim Thompson Fabrics, Maria Dora, FIT and other lifestyle companies. She is also a marketing instructor at the Fashion Institute of Technology and teaches in the Professional Studies Department, Design Entrepreneurs NYC, a mini-MBA program developed by New York’s Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the school’s ESL Summer program. Melissa sits on the Texworld and New York Fashion Fellows Alumni Advisory Boards.
