Adelaide Lancaster is a co-founder of In Good Company, a first of its kind community, business learning center, and co-working space for women entrepreneurs located in Manhattan.
In addition to professional work and meeting space, IGC teaches women the business of building a business through more than twenty five classes and workshops each month. Over the years, thousands of women have connected through IGC to become more confident and successful as entrepreneurs.
Adelaide is both a strategic thinker and a master implementer. She has spent her professional career dedicated to helping women find work that is meaningful and rewarding. Adelaide was recently featured in the book Upstarts!, as one of 60 Gen-Y entrepreneurs who are rocking the world of business.
Adelaide was co-founder and Principal Partner of Berkman Fives a consulting firm that helped women professionals with career development and advancement and women entrepreneurs with business growth and efficiency.
Adelaide earned a M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology and a M.A. in Organizational Psychology, both from Columbia University. She also earned her B.A. degree in Sociology and Anthropology, Educational Studies, from Colgate University. She also currently serves as a member of the Young Entrepreneur Council and is a contributor to The Huffington Post.
The Big Enough Company: Creating a Business that Works for You, co-authored by Lancaster and In Good Company co-founder Amy Abrams, will be published September 15, 2011. The book explores how to grow your enterprise in a way that sustains your own personal goals and needs, not someone elseÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s standards. Drawing on the true stories of nearly 100 entrepreneurs, as well as their own experiences, Lancaster and Abrams guide readers through the best principles that really matter when you work for yourself. We will be featuring examples and stories of over 150 women business owners throughout the country.
